MEASURING / INSPECTION

BUILD YOUR FIRST SET
Your first toolbox should include: 3/8" socket set (8mm-19mm + 1/4"-3/4"), 1/2" socket set with breaker bar (for wheels), torque wrench (5–80 ft-lb range), full combo wrench set, screwdriver set including Phillips/flat/Torx, hammer + dead blow, pliers (slip-joint + needle nose), tire pressure gauge, tread depth gauge, DMM, inspection light, magnetic tray.
Budget: $400–$800 for a starter set. Buy quality on what you use daily (sockets, ratchets, torque wrench), economy on stuff you rarely touch.
